Allegheny Music Works offers a unique selection of books, videos, and CDs on songwriting and various aspects of the music business, a special collection of books on opera and theatre for students and professionals, as well as classical and jazz materials for musicians and teachers. In addition, the company publishes unique Halloween songs and Halloween CDs suitable for both children and adults, including It's Halloween
with Victor. R. Vampire and Friends, selected as the Nick Jr. Family Magazine's Editor's Pick in the Seasonal Music category in October 2006.

About Us
For over thirty years, Al Rita has been involved in the music business as a teacher, songwriter, music publisher and executive record producer.
After graduating from Penn State, Al began his career as a piano teacher, founding his own music studio, and offering beginning through advanced instruction for both children and adults.
Al's educational piano solos include numerous pieces published by Schaum Publications, Inc. (www.schaumpiano.net), The Willis Music Company (distributed by Hal Leonard Corp. www.halleonard.com), and Piano Press (www.pianopress.com). In addition, Al has co-written a series of piano books for Schaum Publications released in October 2007 entitled Piano Pieces & Puzzles.
As a songwriter, affiliated with BMI, Al has written songs in a variety of genres including Country, Pop, MOR, Theatrical, Novelty, Seasonal, Religious, Children's, Inspirational, and Educational. His published works include: Don't Mess With the IRS, a country-novelty song cowritten with Dan Rita, recorded by Marlon Frizzell (only son of country music legend Lefty Frizzell) and released in 1989 on the Trend label; Raincheck On Your Love, recorded by former Miss Nevada, Jacqueline Moore and released on the Comstock label; and many more.
As an executive record producer Al has managed numerous album projects including It’s Halloween with Victor R. Vampire and Friends, selected by Nick Jr. Family Magazine as their feature seasonal music pick in October 2006.
In 1991, Al and his wife Jane established Allegheny Music Works, including its own BMI and ASCAP affiliations (Tuned On Music, BMI; Allegheny Music Works Pub., ASCAP) and its own record label, Allegheny Records.
